James Baddeley Consulting is a dynamic consultancy providing a range of business solutions to third sector organisations seeking improvement and growth.

Led by James Baddeley, our aim is to provide a one-stop-shop for charities and social businesses who face a wide range of challenges and opportunities.

We work both independently or, for some assignments, in partnership with a range of consultant partners, in particular with eg:consulting, Advocacy Funding, the You Can Hub - a CIC developed by and for people experiencing disadvantage and disability and LA Social Consultancy, maximising our portfolio of skills and tools to help solve your organisational problems and support you to go on achieving in the future.

About James Baddeley

James BaddeleyJames Baddeley has spent the past 12 years working as a consultant and in senior management positions for dynamic charities and social businesses, delivering growth and excellence in each. Allied to this he also spent three years as a regional committee member for the Big Lottery Fund, distributing grants of £10 million per year.

This charity sector experience is combined with extensive experience of commercial sales and marketing, a background which provides him with a strong understanding of the business principles needed for organisations to be successful and profitable - vital knowledge for charities in today’s climate.

Highlights of James’s career to date include raising over £3 million in income whilst Deputy Chief Executive of Speaking Up (now VoiceAbility), helping to grow this small, local charity and social business from £100,000 turnover, a team of 5 staff, and a reach of 100 service users to £4m turnover, a team of 130 staff, and a reach of 3000 service users during an eight year period.

He is a full certified member of the Institute of Fundraising, having been awarded their Certificate in Fundraising Management in 2003, and has an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing. In addition, James is a trustee of Charities Evaluation Services, the UK’s leading provider of support and advice on quality and evaluation systems for the voluntary sector.

On a voluntary basis, James applies his skills and experience to local community activities, as a School Governor and a Trustee of a local Youth Club.
